We sat on the rooftop for graduation weekend and had the best time. Our server Morgan was so kind and considerate. He was very polite and eager to assist us with our needs. The food was lovely and the blankets were a nice touch.

Amazing 3 story restaurant in Orono! Beautiful. We sat on the top floor where they had tabletop fire places at every table. There was a glass partition with seating overlooking the street and deflecting the wind. It was outstanding! We tried several appetizers and all were fantastic. We were there on the busiest night of the year, UMAINE graduation weekend and our service was exceptional, even with several large parties nearby. You must try this place. It is a true dining experience!

Absolutely most incredible evening. Duane was one of the best servers ever. The meal was so amazing. The flavor of the burger was unsurpassed by anything I've had. The prime rib was absolutely tender. The chicken tenders surpassed anything I've had. Strawberry milkshake was literally an entire meal in itself. This is the perfect destination to enjoy an incredible atmosphere, the aesthetic was beyond anything small town. This place was classy and all of the staff were amazing.

We had a fabulous evening at Kanu. The atmosphere is wonderful, the decor and style of the restaurant is incredible. We dined on the roof top, it was just perfect. Even walking up the flights of stairs to get to the roof was stylish and unique. Service was excellent, food was top notch. Definitely looking forward to returning here.

Very cool place. Great selection of local beers and cocktails. I ordered the Carne (meat lovers) flatbread pizza. Wife ordered the Salad and daughter ordered the Kanu (Wagyu) beef burger and Talo fries. Salad was ok. Burger was very nice. Have to say that the extra ingredients of the burger overwhelmed the flavor of the beef though. Fries were amazing... can really tell the difference when fried in beef talo. The Pizza was very nice. Crispy wood fired crust and a good proportion of Chicken, Sausage, ham and bacon on the pizza. Great eclectic atmosphere and staff was very good. Prices are a bit high for the area but you pay for the atmosphere and upscale food.

The bar for a dining experience in the greater Bangor area has been raised by Kanu, a new upscale restaurant in Downtown Old Town. My family and I were given the opportunity of a sneek peak tasting of what to expect when the new eatery opens, and it is delicious for the mouth and eyes! Our four course sampler, which seemed to never end, gave us a great mix of menu options. The plating for each course was very appealing to the eye and definitely brought out the oohs and aahs when placed in front of us. To start we were served two different but refreshing salads: Bib & Balsamic and an Autumn salad, and an order of crispy homemade chips. The next round included Rosemary Garlic Poutine and Mussels Sambuca, each with portions intended to share for sure. The poutine was exactly what a cold night in Maine calles for, very comforting. While the broth the Mussels are served in was very flavorful, and can be sopped up with the provided bread. The main course featured Prime Rib with whipped potatoes and a fantastic horseradish sauce. The prime rib pretty much melted in our mouths...so good! The Babyback ribs were so tasty with just a touch of sweet and a bit of a kick, balanced nicely with baked beans and rice. A pasta dish with fresh noodles and sauteed wood fired chicken in a romano cheese sauce was rich and very comfort food-esque. The final entree was Cedar Plank Kanu Salmon, cooked to perfection with delicous cripsy kale chips and rice. Ending the meal was a great array of desserts, including a super fancy Strawberry Shake with an angel food cupcake, which at first glance looked like a donut. The creme brulee was fantastic and the Gray Family blueberry cake was light and tasty. My fave was the Funnle Cake with ice cream and fresh berries...a great ending to a great meal. The beer menu is really a who's who of Maine brewers, with options for everyone. The atmosphere was unlike any other in the greater Bangor area. Our waitress, Stephanie was warm and very personable, always available and made it a great experience for our family. We would highly recommend giving Kanu a visit, for a nice night out...great food, great atmosphere!

From the outside you wouldn’t know that this hidden gem is in old town. I studied architecture and civil engineering in school and this place is amazing on the inside!!! The rooftop fire pits are a nice touch. The pork chop is out of this world!!! I’ve been to the Foxwoods casino and spent let’s just way too for food in a fancy environment and it’s not compared to this, those guys in the kitchen know what they are doing, and the drinks at the bar? Immaculate!!! First anniversary well spent, definitely going back when we get someone to watch the kids again lol.
